About this tool
GPA Calculator works out your grade point average from each course grade and its credit hours. Choose your scale (4.0, 5.0 or 10-point), add your courses, and the average updates instantly.
GPA is a weighted average: each course grade point is multiplied by its credits, the results are added up, and the total is divided by the total credits. To get a CGPA, enter the courses from all your semesters together. On the 10-point scale this tool uses O = 10, A+ = 9, A = 8, B+ = 7, B = 6, C = 5, D = 4 and F = 0. Universities use different grade-point tables, so compare these values with your institution's official scale before relying on the result.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA usually refers to a single semester or term. CGPA, the cumulative GPA, averages every course across all semesters, weighted by credits.
How do I calculate my CGPA?
Add every course from every semester as a row, with its grade and credits. The result shown is your cumulative average.
Can I convert CGPA to a percentage?
This calculator does not. Conversion formulas differ between universities, so use the formula your institution publishes.
My university uses different grade points. Will the result be wrong?
It can differ slightly. This tool uses common grade-point tables. If your institution assigns different values, use its table for an official figure.
