About Gengis
Free tools that run in your browser
What this site is
Gengis is a growing collection of small tools for everyday jobs: turning photos into a PDF, merging or splitting PDFs, shrinking a file for email, converting a Word document, resizing a photo, making a QR code or an invoice, and working out a GPA.
Why it exists
Many online tools make you sign up, add a watermark, or upload your files to a server you know nothing about. These tools are built differently. Each one runs inside your own browser, so the documents and photos you use are never sent anywhere.
Honest limits
Running everything in the browser has trade-offs, and each tool page says so plainly. For example, Compress PDF can only re-save a file more efficiently rather than re-encode the images inside it, and Word to PDF is best for letters, essays and reports rather than design-heavy layouts. Where a server-based service would do a better job, we say that too.
How the site is paid for
The tools are free to use, with no account and no watermark. The site may show advertising to cover its costs. Ads never appear inside a tool while you are working in it.
